There is no right way to figure out what major is for you, but our advice to you is to try new things. This may be scary for some people, but this is a great way for you to test yourself and see where your true interests lie. You will never know if you never try!
For most schools, it is required for you to take the SAT and/or the ACT. Unfortunately, your scores do affect your acceptance, which makes these scores extremely crucial. Don't forget to study, and manage your time during testing!

Apply to as many as you can and make sure they are the best fit for you. A lot of the time, students drop out or flunk out of college due to the circumstances that they are put in. Make sure you love the environment and that this college offers you everything that you need. You will be spending the next four or more years at this place. It will almost be like a second home to you. Choose wisely.
Colleges look for students who are well-rounded and have worked hard during their high school careers. They look for individuals who stand out of the thousands of students who apply to their schools. Do things that have value to you, and show colleges that you are a great fit for their schools. Prove to them in your applications that you have grown from your past experiences that has made you who you are today.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but satisfying the wants/needs of a certain college does not gurantee your acceptance. College admissions is a gamble. Some people in all honesty get in with luck.
Remember that wherever you go, you will receive a great education. Even if you do not get into the school that you really wanted to attend, just remember what is most important: getting your degree. Apply to all the schools that you want to even if some might be a reach. It is good to have dream schools, however, do not let yourself make that one school your only option.
